LYRICS

Haru ni sakimasu kibou no sakura
Hana mo arashi mo sakasemasu
Hirari-harari to yume fukuramase
Anata to watashi tsunagimasho
Blooming in the spring, cherry blossom of wishes
This flower can even bloom during a storm
Flutter-flutter, making dreams grow bigger
You and I will be connected together

Natsu ni sakimasu mabushii sakura
Ai to yuuki ga sakasemasu
Kirari-kirari to yume kagayakase
Ashita no niji wo watarimasho
Blooming in the summer, brilliant cherry blossom
Love and courage can both bloom
Sparkle-sparkle, making dreams shine
Let's cross the bridge of tomorrow

* Tsuyoku hageshiku yasashiku sakura
Saite misemasu Sakura Sakura
Sakura-iro
Strong, intense, nice cherry blossom
Try and bloom cherry blossom, cherry blossom
The colour of cherry blossoms

Aki ni sakimasu kurenai sakura
Akai yuuhi ni sakasemasu
Yaburiyaburare yume kujikete mo
Namida wo fuite utaimasho
Blooming in the fall, the crimson cherry blossom
It can bloom in the red sunlight
Crickle-crackle, even if my dreams break apart
I'll brush away my tears, and I'll sing

Fuyu ni sakimasu yukiwari sakura
Muku na kokoro de sakasemasu
Takaku kewashiku yume tookute mo
Anata ga ireba noboremasu
Blooming in the winter, the snow-covered cherry blossom
It can bloom with a pure heart
Even if my dreams seem too high up to reach
If you are here, I can rise up to them

REPEAT * 2X

LYRICS

Koko ni tsudou omoi wa hitotsu itsuka mata aeru yo ne
Toki wa sugite wakare no kisetsu namida nagasu darou
Anata to itsumo utatta koto ya sono te ga fureta ano toki
Ichi nichi ga anna ni mo ureshikute kagayaite setsunakute mijikakute
As we meet in this place, our thoughts become one, we'll meet again right
The time passes, and it's time to say farewell to the season, eventhough tears are flowing
The moment when I always sing with you, and the moment when I touch those hands
Each of them, just as it was, made me happy, it sparkled, yet painful, and short lived...

*Sakura saita kono mune no naka ima utsukushiku
Sakura saita hirari hirari to taoyaka ni
Cherry blossom bloomed, deep within my heart... so lovely now
Cherry blossom bloomed, lightly and gracefully

Haru no kaze wo tamoto ni shimai atatakasa dakishimeru
Haru wa meguru hana kara hana e yume wo kasaneau
Anata to itsumo waratta koto ya suki da to itta ano toki
Omoide ga yomigaeru tanoshikute mabushikute kanashikute yasashikute
The mountain sleeve, has put the end to the spring breeze... I'll embrace it warmly
The spring returns, from the flower to the flower, pilling up new dreams
The moment when I always laugh with you, I really love and want to relive that moment
I recall those memories, it was enjoyable, it was dazzling, yet so sad, but gentle

REPEAT *

Fuyu no samusa itetsuku daichi jitto jitto taenuki
Tsuyoku tsuyoku tada hitamuki ni ikite yukitai
The sheer cold of winter, the freezing ground, motionlessly stay firm
Stronger and stronger, yet earnestly... that's how I want to continue living...

REPEAT * 2X
Sakura saita kono mune no naka... Sakura saita...
Cherry blossom bloomed, deep within my heart... Cherry blossom has bloomed...

NOTE: The 1st and 2nd song was a direct copy from Anime Lyrics though the translation for the 2nd song was taken from Kayama. I transliterate and translate the 3rd song myself... so as always, pardon for the bad english... haha...
PERSONAL THOUGHTS
As the title suggests... it's very obvious enough that today's songs is about.... SAKURA. Hence, the first song... Hahaha. If we're talking about Sakura, in the universe of Sakura Taisen... then we're definitely talking about the main heroine of the show, Sakura Shinguuji. Well, eventhough there are 3 groups, Sakura is still the main lead of them all... I couldn't do a Sakura Taisen without bringing her songs right?

Sakura Shinguuji is the daughter of Kazuma Shinguuji, the descendant of the Haja Bloodline... whose destiny was to sacrifice themselves to defeat demons. Cruel destiny indeed, right? Since Kazuma only had one child before he went for the Kouma/Demon War... Sakura is probably the end of the Haja 'mission' through his bloodline. By this background, Sakura is then invited to join the Teikoku Kagekidan... and though starting out as clumsy and naive girl, she ended up being one of the top star of the Teigeki (eventhough Sumire Kanzaki would surely refuse that sentence).

The songs today, are all performed by Sakura herself. The 1st one is her image song from the 1st game, one which she sings about the true nature of Cherry Blossom, how it is beautiful, sweet, gentle yet strong at the same time. Sakura sings about cherry blossom in the spring... in the summer... in the autumn... and what? in the winter? Okay... how can that possibly be? *sigh* Is she talking about herself as well then? Most probably... but I also feels that this song is about everyone, or every female member of the Sakura Taisen universe. Though the song might seem simple, it's actually a bit hard to tackle... since this type of song made you focused to not get carried away by the lazy feel... *sigh*. It really might seem simple to sing, but trust me... it's not a simple as you can say.  Oh, I almost forget, my cousin -the music teacher- used this song as one of the project in his primary school ensemble, for the kids graduation... Silly huh?

The second song, is her next image song from the 2nd game. As you can hear by yourself, it has the same... yes, the very same atmosphere as the 1st song. Sakura is a much stronger character though, here she sings about how Spring is coming, and it means that the season of love is coming as well. Judging from this song, it seems that Sakura's meeting with Oogami in the 1st game, has continue into a more deeper feeling, and she has realized that she has changed. Not much to say, but this is a more romantic song compared to the first one, though with the same atmosphere and feel. Oh, I almost forget once more... Cherry Blossom blooms at the first day of Spring, hence the song is speaking about Sakura as well... even when the title doesn't say so.

The final song, is her final song of her solo lines (which are quite many, since she's the star of the show...). This song is performed in the Final Kayou/Song Show... celebrating the 10th year of Sakura Taisen, as well as the 10th Kayou Show. 5 years ago? Yup, precisely! Here she's singing about goodbye, yes... this song is a farewell song by Sakura, specially to fans. She says that Sakura has bloomed, meaning that the time to wilt will come soon, and the spring will end. She cherised all memories she had with fans (she's obviously refering to fans when she speaks about singing and laughing together), and even though it was fun it was painfull at the same time cause it's shortlived. It has such a great value, since this song is performed in what fans thought as their final show... and last performance ever. It was so sad, and heartbreaking to see this song performed on 2006. Best of all, in the live version the other Hanagumi members (with Kaede replacing Orihime) joined in with solo/duet taking the 2nd half of the song. It was a very touching moment, it was very nostalgic for me... and I do feel that it's way better than Sakura's solo studio version. Damn, why didn't they record this together? At that time, all fans thought that we will surely say goodbye to the Teito group...

...Then the Budoukan popped in, and the Teito group re-appears... LIVE of course... and then followed by Sakura random appearances in the Paris/New York Lives.... and finally, last year... they re-unite in Teito Hanagumi Live 2011. Don't forget the 2nd Budoukan two weeks ago as well.... Haha. Somehow the sad vibe from the last song has faded out by those small returns XD. I guess it's true what they said that "Sakura is Eternally"

I won't say much more about the songs, please listen to them yourself and catch the 'Sakura' atmosphere from them all. I do enjoy the songs, and had a good time doing those covers... eventhough, I'm not really a fan of Sakura Shinguuji, or to be honest... of these songs. The 3rd song was actually precious for me, and it had awesome poetic poignant message in it... but it had lost its sentimental value over these years hahaha. If I can choose more variety of her songs, then I would have chosen "Sakura Senzen", "Koi wo Shimaseu", or even "Kuchisuzamu Uta" cause I liked them better. Oh yeah, I've recorded the 2nd and 3rd song last year, so it's one of those "Past Works"... hence, I didn't add any digital effects on them, and pardon for the minor microphone pickups here and there. Hey, I just realized that "Sakura Saita" was recorded October last year, meaning almost a year ago... meaning NOT in this notebook and NOT using this shitty microphone I'm using now as well... WOW!!! Hahaha... Please enjoy my RAW vocals in those two songs then... (^^)v

Thanks for reading, and look forward for more, and more of Sakura Taisen. Have a nice day and I hope those cherry blossom will bloom in your heart as well... though it's October XD...
JCBU always...

~Furede Riko
Stronger and stronger, yet earnestly... that's how I want to continue living... (Sakura Shinguuji from "Sakura Saita")

ORIGINAL SONG
Only the 2nd song is available in studio recording format, the others are live performances... :
And the usual bonuses... the catchy and specially arranged medley of Sakura and Kanna's songs in "Tsubasa". I'm really digging this combo: Chisa Yokoyama & Mayumi Tanaka - Haru ga Kuru x Minami Kaze GO GO
and Kouhei Tanaka playing a piano instrumental of the last song in Desucon 2011 event (though I have no clue what event is this anyway hahaha), oh... and he sings as well... yes, he can SING ^^:
Hope you enjoy them all!!!...
